Okay, I haven't updated this in a while. I really should force myself to keep up with it.
Anyway, the summer is getting into full swing, although I can hardly tell. I'm spending most of my days in Degarmo Hall getting paid to play with computers, just as I did during the past couple semesters, and the remainder of my weekday times are spent doing school work. Okay, maybe not all of the time, but I am enrolled in a class, and it's making my summer seem not very summer-ish. The nice thing is that I get to travel up to the Chicago area just about every weekend to visit my parents and Susan. It's taking a toll on my poor li'l car, but it's worth it.
In random news, I saw a kick-butt concert this past weekend. Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth are rock gods, for sure. A small damper on the weekend was the crushing of my index finger between the inner part of a door and the door frame. I don't know why I put my finger there as the door was closing...it's not like I do these things on purpose...but it's still hurting two days later (although not quite as much as before). My fingernail is a little more flat now too.
I am a bit amused at how the door incidident transpired...I was leaving the bathroom of a restaurant as another guy was going in. To let him by, I flattened myself out a little bit, which included stretching my arm out. That's where it got in the way of the door. I felt a little bit of pressure, then a whole lot of pressure, then the guy said, "Wow, that must hurt." That's when I realized that my finger was stuck in the door and that I was in a lot of pain. As I pushed the door back open with my other hand, I said matter-of-factly, "Yeah, it does." I'm glad that I didn't react to it in the same way that I reacted to slamming my finger in a car door 20 years ago, when I was a wee all-too-willing-to-wail-in-pain lad of 3 years.
Well, at least I still have ten fingers and ten fingernails.
