Okay...if you're reading this, you see the first stage of my site's migration to the new design. You'll probably see some inconsistencies from time to time, but hopefully I'll be completely moved over in the near future. I'm also thinking of putting this "Ramblings" page as the index. Seems to make sense if I want maintain this as a "blog" site. Eh...we'll see what I feel like doing later.

Okay, I finally have a sample of the new site design up and running. How exciting!

For all of your who keep up with the occasional goings-on of my site here, be prepared for a slight change in scenery soon. I'm currently working through a re-design to something that I think works a bit better (and looks a bit better) than what I have right now. When I get a prototype completed, I'll post a link to it if anyone is really curious.
I almost forgot to mention: I believe that I finally have a dissertation topic picked and ready to go. Of course, this is like my fourth dissertation topic as a result of me not being able to get focused on one particular thing, but as I'm quickly running out of time to actually do a dissertation before I finish classes, it's pretty likely that I'll be sticking with this one.
I kind of wish that I would have been able to stick with my apprenticeship research project as my dissertation, but unfortunately that would only happen if I attended a school that had money and resources (UIUC, if you're listening...care to help a poor alumnus out?). Damn my uppity academic desires.
