So with gas prices as they are today, I'm strongly considering selling my car and getting something that is a little cheaper and more efficient. Possibly a Nissan Sentra. I wonder if that's a stupid idea. I need to crunch some more numbers on this one I suppose.
Yes, a rather pointless post, but sometimes I just need to type, dagnabbit.

The VW turbodiesels are pretty hard to top in terms of mileage and don't come with the hybrid/two-engines-in-one-car markup. But people don't seem to sell them used all that often and VW isn't making any new ones for the 2007 model year (but they'll be back). Had my parents not had a car to sell us, I probably would've gotten Mel a TDI Jetta or Golf when we gave up on her Lumina.
Not that the Sentra's a bad idea, of course.
Yeah, the last time I shopped, I was really close to going for a TDI. Instead I got a 1.8T because the deal was so awesome. Aaand now I'm paying the price. I'm really intrigued by the continuous variable transmission of the Sentra, which is nicely standard and carries no markup.
It all depends on how much I actually get for my Jetta, though. If I can't pay it off right away from the sale, there ain't much point.
Ohh, I didn't know the Sentras had CVT. That's some sexy technology. Pair that with a rotary turbodiesel and I might explode.
