So the news on Friday was that the Chicago Tribune has endorsed Obama for president. This is the first time that they've ever endorsed a Democrat, and only the third time that they've endorsed a non-Republican (Teddy "rough rider" Roosevelt was the last one in 1912). It looks like the Los Angeles Times threw their endorsement in too, and the last candidate that they officially gave a thumbs-up to was Nixon. Yowza. Who's next, the National Review? The world's gone topsy-turvy!
Yeah, I said "yowza." And yesss, I found this story while voluntarily reading foxnews.com. Don't get me wrong, I still rely entirely Comedy Central to give me all my news and analysis. Comedy Central can be fair or balanced, and I like that they keep it simple by shooting for only one at a time. I'd say that when it comes to news reporting, "fair and unbalanced" and "balanced and unfair" each have their own special merits.
Remember when Jon Stewart was interviewed by Bill O'Reilly, and Bill kept referring to the Daily Show audience as stoned slackers? That was fun.

I'm with Bill O'Reilly. "The Daily Show" is overrated.
What would have been funny is if that interview ended with Bill going, "Well, you know what, Jon? You're short. You're just, you're really short."
Quick-cut to Jon's surprised expression, then commercial break. Genius.
That would have been absolutely perfect. He should seriously consider making that his trademark!
If *I* ever have my own TV show, I'm going to start every interview by violently disagreeing with everything my guest says, and then when we inevitably enter an angry shouting match, I'll wildly fluctuate between sides of the argument until the guest has no idea what he or she believes in. It will be genius and I'll have the highest ratings ever!
P.S. - I will endorse you. And I've thought about it, and damn it, I would vote for you, too. So there!
Thanks, honey! I promise you'll live to regret it!
